About Yan Obodyanik

Yan Obodyanik was born in St.Petersburg, Russia, a city of rich artistic and cultural traditions. He was fortunate to be accepted to the prestigious St. Petersburg Architectural Academy where he received extensive training in both building design and the Fine Arts.

With the help of a team of excellent mentors, Yan discovered his passion for the Fine Arts and soon became one of the best and most promising students in the Fine Arts department.  After his graduation, Yan decided to move to Israel to explore his Jewish identity that inextricably helped enrich his artistic expression.

After his marriage in 1999, he and his wife moved to Chicago, where he had a great opportunity to contribute his artistic talents by producing artwork for the local Jewish community, as well as for private clients and organizations.

Thanks to his classical training in the Fine Arts, Yan became a versatile artist who continues the tradition of the Old Masters, creating artwork in almost any genre and media: from watercolor landscapes and cityscapes to acrylic murals, stained glass, Jewish and Judaic arts and oil portraits.  Always focused on perfecting his artistic techniques, Yan devotes all of his talents to ensure that each of his projects is a true masterpiece.
